人物雕塑中采用的古銅：鍛銅其實是一門傳統藝術，古銅的系指純銅，主要的品種有無氧銅、紫銅、磷脫氧銅、銀銅等等，它的塑性極好，宜鍛打工藝。但是如果不加入其它金屬的話是不宜鑄造的。

人物雕塑中的青銅：系指除銅鎳、銅鋅合金以外的銅基合金，主要品種有錫青銅、鋁青銅、特殊青銅（又稱高銅合金）等等。青銅在鑄造人物雕塑時有良好的鑄造加工性能，較強的防酸、防堿、防鹽，抗腐蝕性，適宜精鑄，著色穩定。
